Proven Ingredients

Why our formula works

One molecule. Direct nasal delivery to the central nervous system. Compounded by a U.S. licensed pharmacy and reviewed by a board-certified physician before every prescription.

Oxytocin 40 units/mL

The bonding hormone

Naturally released during touch, intimacy, breastfeeding, and trust-building moments. Reduces cortisol, activates the parasympathetic system, and supports emotional regulation.

Nasal delivery

CNS access

Intranasal Oxytocin reaches central neural pathways within 30–60 minutes — far more effective for behavioral and mood effects than oral or sublingual routes.

Provider supervised

Dr. Ressalam reviews

Every prescription reviewed individually — including screening for psychiatric history, blood pressure, hyponatremia risk, and current medications that interact with neurochemistry.

Connection isn't soft science — it's neurochemistry. Oxytocin is the molecule that makes it real.

The science

How oxytocin works

Oxytocin is the neurohormone behind trust, bonding, and calm. Three things happen when it's replenished.

↓ Cortisol

Stress hormones drop

Oxytocin counters the cortisol-driven stress response, lowering reactivity and physiological arousal within 30–60 minutes of dosing.

↑ Connection

Bonding signals

Oxytocin is released during eye contact, touch, and intimate moments — and dosing it directly amplifies the same pathways.

Parasympathetic

Calm response

Activates the rest-and-digest nervous system, supporting deeper sleep, easier digestion, and recovery from chronic stress.

Personalize your treatment

Top 3 concerns by age

Hair thinning has different drivers at different life stages. Here's how HairMax addresses the most common concerns at each.

Postpartum bonding

After childbirth, oxytocin can plateau or drop. Restoring it supports the bonding, calm, and warmth most parents want during early years.

Stress reactivity

High-pressure decade — career, relationships, family. Oxytocin counters the cortisol response so your nervous system isn't stuck on.

Social connection

Loneliness can be physical. Oxytocin amplifies the reward of connection, making everyday social interactions feel more rewarding.

The mechanism

Three pathways, one molecule

Oxytocin acts on the brain, the autonomic nervous system, and behavioral reward circuits — all from a single nasal dose.

I

Counter cortisol

Oxytocin opposes cortisol. Within an hour of dosing, sympathetic stress activation drops and felt sense of calm rises.

II

Activate bonding circuits

Triggers the same reward and attachment circuits engaged during touch, intimacy, and meaningful conversation.

III

Engage parasympathetic

Shifts the autonomic nervous system into rest-and-digest mode, supporting digestion, sleep, and recovery.

Eligibility

Is Oxytocin Boost Spray right for you?

Oxytocin is well-tolerated by most adults at this dose — but a few specific medical situations require a conversation with your provider before starting.

Good fit if you are

  • Healthy adults seeking stress reduction, deeper connection, or improved emotional regulation.
  • Looking for a non-SSRI, non-benzodiazepine option for stress and connection support.
  • Comfortable with a nasal-delivery prescription used as needed or daily, under physician supervision.

Talk to your provider before starting if

  • !You are pregnant or breastfeeding (Oxytocin is involved in labor and lactation — caution at supraphysiologic doses).
  • !You have a personal history of psychiatric mood disorders, particularly hypomania or psychosis.
  • !You have a history of low blood pressure, syncope (fainting), or autonomic dysfunction.
  • !You have severe nasal allergies, chronic sinusitis, or recent nasal surgery (interferes with absorption).

Dr. Ressalam reviews these factors during the intake. If Oxytocin Boost Spray isn't the right fit, your card authorization is released — you are never charged.

Application protocol

How to use Oxytocin Boost Spray

Effects begin within 15–30 minutes and last 60–90 minutes. Many patients dose situationally (before social/intimate moments) or daily — your provider will advise.

  1. 01

    Prime the bottle

Before first use, prime by pumping into the air 4–6 times until a fine mist appears. Repeat priming if you haven't used the spray in 24+ hours.

  2. 02

    Tilt head slightly forward

Slight forward tilt — not back. This positions the nasal cavity for optimal absorption and avoids the spray running down your throat.

  3. 03

    Spray into one nostril

Insert the nozzle into one nostril, close the other with a finger, and spray once while inhaling gently through that nostril.

  4. 04

    Repeat in the other nostril

Switch nostrils and repeat. Most prescriptions call for 1 spray per nostril, once or twice daily — follow your provider's instructions.

  5. 05

    Hold and breathe normally

Avoid blowing your nose for 5–10 minutes after dosing to allow full mucosal absorption. Resume normal activity.

When to apply

Many patients dose 30 minutes before social or intimate moments. Daily use is also supported. Avoid mid-day if you find oxytocin makes you sleepy.

Sensations are subtle

Most patients feel a quiet warmth, a softening of stress, and a sense of openness. Big rushes or strong sedation are not typical.

Acute, not cumulative

Each dose works on its own — there's no buildup phase like with antidepressants. Effects begin within 30 minutes and fade over 90 minutes.

Storage

Refrigerate after opening. Compounded oxytocin is most stable at 2–8 °C. Discard 30 days after first use or per the label.

What to expect

Your results timeline

15–30 min

Onset

Subtle warmth, calmer breathing, softening of stress. Most patients first notice it as the absence of the usual mental noise.

30–60 min

Peak

Strongest connection and bonding effects. Optimal window for social, intimate, or therapeutic use.

60–90 min

Sustained

Effects gradually decline. Many patients describe lingering warmth and lower reactivity for the rest of the day.

2–4 hrs

Return to baseline

Active oxytocin window closes. No residual sedation or mood drop. Reapply per provider instructions if needed.

Long term

No tolerance

Oxytocin works each time without building tolerance. Many patients use it ongoing for years as a stress and connection support.

Timing reflects average response from clinical literature on intranasal Oxytocin. Individual response varies based on stress baseline, life-stage hormonal context, and consistency of use.

Your questions

Frequently asked

Is intranasal oxytocin different from IV or sublingual?

+

Yes. Intranasal oxytocin reaches central nervous system pathways far more efficiently than oral or sublingual routes (which have low bioavailability) and avoids the discomfort and cost of IV. The intranasal route is the standard for oxytocin in research.

How quickly will I notice a difference?

+

Most patients feel a calmer, warmer baseline within 15–30 minutes of the first dose. Behavioral effects on connection and bonding are most pronounced 30–60 minutes after dosing.

Will I become dependent on it?

+

No. Oxytocin doesn't produce physical dependence or tolerance. It works each time you dose and fades after 60–90 minutes. Long-term use is well-tolerated under physician supervision.

Can I use it during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

+

No. Oxytocin is involved in labor and lactation. We do not prescribe supplemental nasal oxytocin during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell Dr. Ressalam during the intake.

Is this an SSRI or anti-anxiety medication?

+

No. Oxytocin works on a completely different system than SSRIs or benzodiazepines. It targets the social/bonding/parasympathetic pathway directly. Many patients use it alongside or instead of traditional anxiety medications.

How does this compare to MDMA-assisted therapy?

+

Both pathways involve oxytocin release, but MDMA also releases serotonin and dopamine and has very different effects, durations, and contexts. Oxytocin Boost Spray is a clinical-grade nasal medication used at home, not a psychedelic experience.

Important Safety Information

  • • For intranasal use only. Valid prescription required.
  • • Contraindicated during pregnancy or breastfeeding (Oxytocin's role in labor and lactation makes supplementation inappropriate).
  • • Disclose any history of psychiatric mood disorders — particularly hypomania, psychosis, or active bipolar — before starting.
  • • Caution with low blood pressure or autonomic dysfunction; brief BP drops are possible.
  • • Avoid use with severe nasal allergies, chronic sinusitis, or recent nasal surgery (interferes with absorption).
  • • Refrigerate after opening; discard 30 days after first use or per the label.
  • • Discontinue and contact your provider if persistent nasal burning, severe headache, hyponatremia symptoms (confusion, severe nausea), or unusual mood changes occur.
