Dr. Annie Ressalam is a board-certified internal medicine physician practicing in Fairfax, Virginia. She leads medical care at HerTelemeds with the conviction that women's health concerns are too often dismissed or undertreated — and that thoughtful, science-backed telehealth can change that.
Every prescription issued through HerTelemeds is reviewed and signed personally by Dr. Ressalam. She does not prescribe controlled substances of any kind, and she reserves the right to decline any treatment that she determines is not clinically appropriate.

How the clinical relationship works
Step 01
You complete an intake
A short, HIPAA-secure questionnaire covering your medical history, current medications, and the specific treatment you're requesting.
Step 02
Dr. Ressalam reviews
Typically within one business day. She reviews your intake, photos, and history, and applies independent clinical judgment to decide whether the requested treatment is appropriate.
Step 03
Approve or decline
If approved, your card is charged and the prescription is dispensed by our partner pharmacy. If declined, your card authorization is released — you're never charged.
What Dr. Ressalam does not provide
- Emergency care. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
- Primary care. HerTelemeds focuses on the specific treatment you request. We strongly recommend maintaining a relationship with your primary care provider.
- Controlled substances. HerTelemeds does not prescribe controlled substances under any circumstance.
- Care outside our service scope. Conditions requiring specialist evaluation, in-person physical examination, or longitudinal management beyond a focused treatment course are referred elsewhere.
